- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion and certification in the Department of Human Services Medication Administration Course
- Appropriate Documentation
- Summary and qualification form
- Review of non-oral medication documentation
- Observation documentation (at least 6 months worth if coming from another
community) - Formal nursing assistant and med tech training
- Perform all the skills and duties of a Nursing Assistant
- Assist with treatments and therapies under the direction of licensed personnel and according to departmental policy
- Assist residents with medications per physician's orders
- Take reasonable measures to ensure that residents take their medications
- Document all medications administered to residents on their EMAR
- Communicate medication errors and/or refusal of medication to nursing as soon as possible, in order for the nurse to follow protocol
- Utilize Messiah Lifeways' licensed personnel (nurse) for medical questions, and for assessing residents following a fall
- Keep the work area neat and clean ensuring the confidentiality of resident records
- Participate in updating resident RASPs and reviews for accuracy
